Adoption Update

Take Training Wheels Off – Check!

Adoption #2 – Rwanda

Yes, the rumors are true. Gunner, Judah and I officially started the adoption process today. We unofficially started back in February but put things on hold until now. So today we had Step 1a – First Homestudy Interview. Tomorrow is Step 1b – Second Homestudy Interview.

Our plan right now is to adopt 2 children (gender(s) are still in discussion!) from Rwanda although we understand that the Lord directs our steps.

I’m going to be adding a much more detailed Rwandan Adoption Page for those interested in actual timeline, costs, steps, etc. but I’ll be making all the big news right here.

As we begin, you can definitely be praying for us:

1-That our hearts would look to Christ every step of the way…during the seemingly simple steps and the glaring difficult ones.

2-That our hearts would be prepared to grow our family if God wills. We both are somewhat anxious about various things related to this but we believe fully that God has called the 2 of us to give our lives for the sake of orphans. How this all fleshes out is in His hands.

3-That we would rest and trust and rest and trust and rest and trust….every step of the way.

More updated to follow :)

862 Days Later

Judah1

862 days ago, on January 3, 2006, we officially started our first adoption process. Today, Judah became an official citizen of the good ol’ USA and our process is now complete. It’s amazing and beautiful to look at his little face and realize all that the Lord has done for him.

OK, maybe there is something greater than Judah singing in his Spiderman goggles…

Because there is no greater birthday present than Judah singing in his SpiderMan goggles…

This is the sweetest chandelier I have seen in a long time. Look closely….it’s made out of pens!
